Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Angeline Lubala Mabula as Tabora Regional Commissioner in a series of appointments that also include new chairpersons of the Court of Appeal and the High Court’s Labour and Land Division.

Ms Mabula replaces Mr Beno Morris Malisa as Tabora Regional Commissioner, according to an announcement issued on October 28, 2026.

Ms Mabula is a former Cabinet minister who lost her parliamentary election bid in last year’s 2025 elections.

Mr Dunford George Mpelumbe has been appointed Chairman of the Court of Appeal, succeeding retired Judge Mathew Pauwa Mwaimu.

Before his appointment, Mr Mpelumbe served as a registrar in the Judiciary of Tanzania.

In another appointment, Mr Omar Ali Omar has been named Chairman of the High Court’s Labour and Land Division, replacing Mr Mohamed Khamis Hamad, whose term has ended.

Mr Omar previously served as Principal Secretary in Zanzibar’s Ministry of State in the President’s Office responsible for Public Service Management, Planning and Finance.

The appointments were announced in a statement attributed to the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Dr Moses Kusiluka, on October 28, 2026.

The statement, signed by Chief Secretary Shaaban Kissu, said the dates for the swearing-in ceremonies would be announced later.
